Smilisca phaeota

- Habitat
- Subtropical or tropical dry and moist lowland forests, wetlands, rivers, ponds, canals and ditches, plantations, gardens, urban areas, and degraded former forests.

Facts
- Dark markings run from the nose back past the eye toward the ear, creating the frog’s mask. Because the pattern crosses the eye, it may help camouflage the frog from predators that locate prey by spotting open eyes.
