Túngara Frog
Engystomops pustulosus

- Range
- From Mexico through Central America into northern South America, including Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela; possibly Guyana.
- Habitat
- Lowland and montane environments, often near temporary or permanent water.
- Diet
- Feeds at night among ground litter.
Facts
- A male’s mating call begins with a drawn-out “whine” and may be followed by short “chucks.” Females generally favor the more complex calls, but those calls also make males easier for frog-eating bats to locate.
