Gray Treefrog
Dryophytes versicolor

- Range
- Native to much of the eastern United States and southeastern Canada, with a range extending west to central Texas and Oklahoma.
- Habitat
- Most common in forested areas and highly arboreal; breeds mainly in semipermanent woodland ponds without fish, as well as other still-water habitats.
- Diet
- An opportunistic eater of insects and other invertebrates; it may also take smaller frogs, including other treefrogs.
Facts
- Its color can shift from gray to green or brown, and individuals may change from nearly black to nearly white. The change is slower than in a chameleon, helping the frog blend with its surroundings.
